The Role of the Youth Coach During a Game
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT YOUR ROLE IS AS A YOUTH COACH DURING A GAME?It is a simpe question with many possible answers and ambiguity.As Youth Soccer Coaches we take on many different roles..We are trainers, leaders, motivators,counselors,developers. But there is one role that is not mentioned a lot, but one of major importance for a youth coach, and that is coaching the game.The game is the reason why we coach, but what is our role when coaching the game.is somewhat of a gray area for youth coaches and left to each individual interpretetion.This course puts the focus on what a youth coach needs to do during the game, fullfilling two major roles: Developing Players (Developer Coach) using the game as a development tool, and help the team compete (Competition coach)
This course aims at helping the coach to manage the game and provides a comprehensive process for youth coaches to follow and learn how to be effective when coaching the game.
